Gerda is a retired, senior citizen living in Toronto, ON, Canada. Her first digital camera, a little Olympus that she received in 2001, turned her from a casual vacation-only point and shooter into a passionate photo enthusiast. Since then, she has earned a total of well over 1,000 Photo of the Day awards at various online contest sites. She has also earned numerous awards in camera club competitions in her home city of Toronto, as well as medals, ribbons and acceptances in several regional competitions and International Salons.

While photography is now her main interest and she has begun to turn her hobby into a home based business, she also loves travel, theatre and reading--and she especially loves the wonderful photo opportunities that travel affords.
